Mzansi has been left stunned after a police officer allegedly left her firearm unattended

(Source: - @goolammv)

Once again social media CIA continue with their impressive work when it comes to exposing unlawfulness within Mzansi. This time around a picture of a policewoman that appears sitting on a concrete garden bench has been making waves online. What has caught people’s attention was the firearm that she left unattended on the concrete bench. Meanwhile, she allegedly had her full attention on her cellphone and the firearm was a few inches away behind her. By the looks of things, it is believed that she was keeping an eye on one of the voting stations within Mzansi. “SAPS officer keeping a ‘watchful’ eye over the elections. #Elections2021,” said Goolam (@goolammv) on Twitter.

What has concerned numerous people on Twitter was that she was relaxed, even though the firearm wasn’t on her. Even the person who took the picture could have easily snatched the firearm away from the police offer. This has been regarded as negligence by people online, as they felt that the South African Police Service (SAPS) had to address such situations from their employees. As it’s not part of their safety rules to have a firearm away from the body. According to reports, a firearm must be on you at all times if they’re on duty, otherwise, it has to be kept on an approved safe. “No excuse for not having the R5 secured. Knowing that criminals may take it for themselves. The R5 is a select-fire rifle capable of semi-auto as well as fully automatic fire,” said @GUNFRIENDLY_SA on Twitter.

Furthermore, some individuals questioned the recruitment process of being a police offer in South Africa. As they couldn’t understand seeing a picture of an officer that’s treating her work as if it’s a piece job. Even though she has one of the most crucial occupations in the country. “Mind-blowing @SAPoliceService do you still train officers or is that optional these days?” asked Jacques Weber (@jacquesweber) on Twitter.
