Background

The whole country has been in an uproar the whole of Monday the 17th of September after a member of the EFF disrespected the president by calling him a small boy.

It was Naledi Chirwa of the Economic Freedom Fighters who was commenting on the president's latest report and many South Africans really found it distasteful. She said that she had no right to speak that way about the president at all. Now Jacob Zuma's daughter has joined in the disrespect with her latest tweet.

Report

Duduzile Zuma posted a video of a white man who was telling Ramaphosa to end all the covid-19 restrictions as the virus is just flu now. This is the very same man who said Ramaphosa should cancel the curfew and coincidentally it got cancelled. Duduzile Zuma captions the video "I hope the small boy is listening".

Although she didn't mention who she was referring to, unlike Naledi Chirwa who blatantly made it known it was about Ramaphosa. This makes Duduzile Zuma safe from any consequences that might come from such a risky post. It seems like the women in the country are intentionally disrespecting the president at this point.

Opinion

This case cannot be sugar-coated at all. It is obvious that they are talking about Ramaphosa. The only question is why is everyone touched by this case? Julius Malema has called Ramaphosa big nose multiple times and there was no outrage. Some are saying it's because she is a woman that such things are happening. We do not know for sure where the Outrage is coming from or if it is justified but we do see a big disconnect.
