Opinion| This is a cabinet of President, Deputy President and Ministers which I think would be best for the country.
Let us look at some key figures which would best lead as well as the principals in parliament.
First, a restructuring of cabinet would be necessary in order to cut down the number of departments.
This is because there still needs to be an opposition such as the DA.
President: Cyril Ramaphosa (ANC)
Deputy President: Julius Malema (EFF)
Speaker of the National Assembly: Patricia De Lille (GOOD)
Deputy Speaker: Nkhensani Kubayi-Ngubane (ANC)
Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces: Floyd Shivhambu (EFF)
Deputy Chairperson: Tanduxolo Sabelo (ANC)
Minister of Finance: Narend Sigh (IFP)
Minister of DIRCO: Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi (EFF)
Minister of Defence: Gen Bheki Cele (ANC)
Minister of Health: Dr Joe Phaahla (ANC)
Minister of Justice and Labour: Adv Dali Mpofu (EFF)
Minister of Education: Fikile Masiko (ANC)
Minister of Communications, Science & Tech: Godrich Gardee (EFF)
Minister of Housing, Water & Public Works: Liezl Van Der Merwe (IFP)
Minister of Transport: Fikile Mbalula (ANC)
Minister of Arts, Culture, Sports & Tourism: Naledi Chirwa (EFF)
Minister of Police & Correctional Services: Tina Joemat-Pettersson (ANC)
Minister of Trade and Industry: Fana Mokoena (EFF)
Minister of Public Enterprises: Adv Thuli Madonsela (Independent)
These members are mostly serving as leaders of their parties in these positions and some are the portfolio committee chairpersons in parliament.
Advocate Thuli Madonsela would be the only exception of people not politically aligned and in the position of Public Enterprises Ministry, she would clean out the department of the ills.
This way these members would hold each other accountable.
