What President of Kenya said about borders got Floyd Shivambu excited but Mzansi grills him

President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta was in a state visit at the Union Buildings on Tuesday. During his speech, Kenyatta addressed the open borders issue in South Africa. Kenyatta says African borders should be opened for all Africans. “These borders were not made for us. If we are going to be manufacturing giants, we need to do away with these borders,” said Kenyatta, addressing the SA-Kenya Business Forum in Pretoria.

Kenyatta's statement excited Economic Freedom Fighters Deputy President, Floyd Shivambu. Shivambu and his Chief In Command, Julius Malema are advocates of the open border policy. Shivambu shared Kenyatta's statement on Twitter but people grilled him.

Many in South Africa think that the open border concept in Africa is only been discussed by EFF members and supporters. Here is a whole Kenyan president not only endorsing it but also promoting it.

If you are a wise one, surely you must understand that open borders will not do good to our country. Looking at SA economy and of many African countries, you will understand that SA will end up flooded by all those countries.

Kenyatta is not be all and end all. He is just waffling like many other African leaders who have failed us. Let each country sort its mess out first. Then we can talk borders. Otherwise its no brainer that a country like ours will be overrun by failed states in the continent. He must open Kenya first! Thats nonsennce is uttered here in SA because we are the most industrialised country in Africa , its like going to your rich neighbour’s house & telling him to open his house for your poor kids. Its a lazy mindset aimed at collapsing SA.

Here's what Mzansi says:

@Soxx If ANC agrees with this madness they will see themselves out of government. South Africa is a country not a Jungle.

@Tsitsu The fact that you Floyd and your so called CiC stay in gated communities is no different from having borders. Why don't you go and stay in townships in houses that are not fenced. The fears you have is the same others fear with borderless countries.

What are your thoughts about what Kenyatta said?
