Ndileka(55) is the first Mandela to reject his grandfather's political party in 2017. Nelson Mandela played a hero for the nation of South Africa and even today some people are only following the party as a way of honoring him. However his eldest grandchild overlooked that.
Ndileka is a social activist and former ICU nurse. She is a mother of two children, a son named Thembela Mandela who was born in 1984 and a daughter named Pumla Mandela born in 1993.
She is the same Ndileka who complained about the newspapers that reported her father's death with wrong details. She explained that her father was reported to have been 35 years old in the time of his death which is wrong. He was 24 years old(1945-1969).
Ndileka supports her late grandfather's mission to reveal the HIV status of a family member in order to combat the stigma.
In 2005 Nelson Mandela made it known that his son Makgatho died of Aids related complications. This was to alert people that the disease is real and can take people's lives.
