International Relations and Cooperation Minister Naledi Pandor has placed her department's Director-General Kgabo Mahoai on precautionary suspension after the department spent R118 million for a piece of land in New York, that did not exist. The news broke out today, even after President Cyril Ramaphosa have sworn during the SONA2021 to fight corruption to a standstill. The corruption in the ruling party is waxing stronger daily.
Kgabo Mahoai was said to have supervised the big scam, and they collected the huge sums of money in an exchange for a non-existing land in New York City. News24 reported that Kgabo Mahoai was only placed on temporary suspension. South Africans are reacting angrily to the news, urging the president and his ANC members to stop looting South African taxpayers money. Many people are angry that he was slammed with only a temporary suspension instead of being arrested, and made to produce the money immediately. Already, the profile of South Africa in the list of corrupt countries is rising steadily.
Some South Africans are arguing that there is nothing to investigate there. Most corrupt cases end up with the story of investigation and nothing positive ever come from such bogus investigations. This is why this man say “They must normalize firing people when nonsense is this obvious. “Pending investigations” makes you look silly when you already know the land does not exist”
