Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the campaign, Ramaphosa answered questions about how the party plans to respond to complaints about the election of council members in the department.
He said, “We say that our selection process is quite historic and unprecedented, to a large extent, we involve the public to nominate, elect and elect our board members in the department.
"We admit that there were mistakes here and there, and maybe there were some mistakes, and especially at Buffalo City the mistakes and the mistakes were few or many."
In fact, according to Ramaphosa, the city is one of the best in terms of registering its candidates on time. For the ANC, the success of the 2021 regional elections is a top priority, Ramaphosa said. "We can't change the list of candidates now, so after the election we can sort it all out."
He said, "All of our candidates have to move forward and everyone has to stand shoulder to shoulder behind the wheel and make sure that the ANC gets a win on this subway."
Ramaphosa officially opened the party's election campaign in Soweto two weeks ago and promised residents that they would solve their electricity problems.
In Thembisa last week, he encouraged people to get vaccinated and promised that the government would "work very hard to make sure we create jobs because today there are 12 million South Africans who are out of work".
On Saturday, Ramaphosa reminded citizens to vote for the ANC on November 1. He is also satisfied with the progress made in providing apartments for residents. "We are very pleased with the progress being made to improve their lives... Nice to come to an area where residents are fixated on local government representation."
