There is a report of alleged corruption and nepotism on the distribution of Covid-19 vaccines which should see the frontline workers being the first people that must get inoculated.
Instead of the frontline workers being first priority, it's alleged that the sons of the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting, Monica Mutsvangwa have allegedly been vaccinated even though they are not frontline workers.
It's reported by ZimLive.com that the two sons of the Cabinet Minister skipped the queue to scramble for the scarce Sinopharm vaccine doses that were originally set to be given to the frontline workers.
It is reported that the two sons , Tinotenda and Tawanda Mutsvangwa got inoculated on Saturday and would later violate the lockdown reregulations by going partying. Mrs Monica Mutsvangwa is married to husband , Christopher Mutsvangwa, who is the leader of the Zimbabwe war veterans .
Upon receiving the Sinopharm vaccine doses in February 2021 , the Minister of Health and Child Care , who is the Deputy President of Zimbabwe, Mr C.Chiwenga had highlighted that the 200 000 vaccine doses were for the frontline workers such as doctors, nurses, police, journalists, law makers and soldiers .
This was even clarified by the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Mrs Monica Mutsvangwa. However , Tinotenda and Tawanda Mutsvangwa are non of the above, a move that may anger some Zimbabwean nationals who are in the queue and waiting patiently to get vaccinated.
