Boris Johnson is on TikTok

The prime minister made an embarrassing video appearance on the site to promote the creation of an official Downing Street profile.

He promised it would provide him exclusive access to the inner workings of his Number 10 organization, however he said he wouldn't participate in any dance craze films.

Commenters were not kind to him, with'resign' being one of the most frequent greetings.

'Please do a video on your hair routine girls,' said another person.

On the same day that the government was chastised by the opposition and labor unions for failing to do enough to alleviate the cost-of-living crisis, others questioned the timing.

'The country is in recession, so the government created a TikTok to help us,' one user said.

'Hi guys, this is Boris Johnson unveiling the Number 10 TikTok site,' he said in a recorded greeting announcing the launch.

'You won't find me dancing on this site, but there will be plenty of information about what we're doing to meet our priorities, to deliver for you on our goal of uniting and leveling up our country.'
