When Phumzile Van Damme took to Twitter to announce her resignation as the Democratic Alliance's member of parliament, she said that she was not resigning because the DA is branded a racist party, but she was leaving in her own accord.
She added she had clashed with someone. She added that she will not be ruining the image of the DA, and said that if they were to ruin her reputation, she will not entertain them.
Also, she clarified that she was still a member of the DA, just not a member of parliament. However, a month later, she changed her mind and terminated her membership from the party, citing that she is launching a project during elections and it requires her to not be a member of any political party.
This afternoon, Van Damme has taken to Twitter to announce the real reason why she left the DA. She explains that she did not want to dwell on this at first but, following the lies that DA leader John Steenhuisen has uttered against her, she has decided to tell it all.
She alleges that the DA Member of Parliament Natasha Mazonne instructed her to be off Facebook because this would negatively affect the DA's votes and that did not sit well with her hence she left.
She then warns Steenhuisen to stop telling lies about her because she has a lot of dirt on him that she is not scared to use. She adds that he must leave her alone and she will stay away from him for the sake of peace.
To prove her claims and what really went down, she has shared the screenshots of the facebook conversation she had with Mazonne.
To conclude, Van Damme says that she is glad that she isnot longer associated with the DA, and says that the whole poitical party is a joke ever since Steenhuisen became its leader.
Yay or Nay? Do you think that Van Damme should have kept her peace and sticked to her word because it is now too late to spill the beans?
