He is reported to have said that the zero percent pass rates which were recorded by some schools during the 2020 Grade 7 results must be turned around, as they do not reflect what Zimbabwe is all about.
The Minister is reported to have been responding to the news journalists who were asking what the ministry was planning to turn around the zero pass rates that were recorded in by a number of schools in the 2020 grade 7 examinations.
Matabeleland South and Matabeleland north Provinces are some of the places that are reported to have had many schools that had a zero percent pass rate.
As a result of the poor pass rate , parents and different educational stakeholders wanted to understand why many schools had performed so badly.
The pass rate for the 2020 academic year dropped to 37.1 percent from the 46.9 percent which was recorded in 2019.This saw the Bulawayo Metro province getting the best pass rate in Zimbabwe with 66.8 percent.
