"I Will Die In ANC" David Mabuza

ANC deputy president, David Mabuza who switched sides at Nasrec conference resulting in Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma losing to president Cyril Ramaphosa has revealed that regardless of all that is happening in the ANC he is prepared to die in ANC.

David Mabuza's reputation is best understood from two different perspectives, to some he is held with high esteem as a unifier within ANC, but to those who still remember how he threw his RET comrades under the bus on the eleventh hour at Nasrec still see him as a "Judas Iscariot" with no firm moral ground and can be easily swayed away.

The "cat" as he is widely known, however claims that he will die an ANC member and no matter what happens he remains an ANC member.

Mabuza voted at Ajuri Farm not far from his home in Mpumalanga province. He said he has been voting at this polling this station for years.

"I voted the ANC. It’s my blood. I will die ANC no matter the difficulties. I’m prepared to die within this movement," he said.

The deputy president said the ability to exercise the right to vote was an achievement that must not be taken for granted while reacting to the lower voter turnout in the just ended local government elections.

Mabuza’s home area, especially Barberton, has been gripped by political infighting. He however believes the issues in the area will soon be resolved.

Mpumalanga recorded incidents where some ANC candidates were killed mafia style prior to local government elections.

"The situation in the ANC is going to improve. All the disputes that were there before we were campaigning for this day, I think we have explained to the voters.

We have put across our message that we are going to deal with all these disputes immediately after this day," he said.
