Ramaphosa Stated the government was trying its best to deal with Covid-19.

Image"I don't want us mixing vaccinations during the elections." The two are diametrically opposed. The attempted link between vaccinations and elections is very unacceptable to me. We've come to whip up support for vaccination as government representatives. This has been in the works for a long time. It's mostly because vaccination rates have been declining, and we need to increase them. What could possibly be wrong with that?

"Those who claim we're electioneering have my utmost contempt. This isn't about the upcoming elections. When I campaign, I wear my ANC T-shirt, ANC lumber, and speak in a very different tone. We know how to divide things up."

The president acknowledged that the relaxation of restrictions did not please everyone, saying:

Others believe it was early [to advance to Level 1], and there is a possibility that the fourth wave will arrive. I'm not aware of that, but we need to be cautious. We wanted to strike a balance and protect people's lives and livelihoods.

He claimed that the only way the country's limits could be eased further was if the majority of people were vaccinated.

"We've come to boost up the vaccination campaign today. We will be able to open more and more locations as more individuals are immunized. We'll be able to find our way around even if another wave appears."

Despite this, he stated the government was trying its best to deal with Covid-19.

"No country in the world can claim to have done it in the most angelic way possible. We're dealing with a pathogen that is constantly evolving. We are doing everything we can to protect the South African people."
