Zikalala will push Kwazulu Natal to Independence| His actions are Speaking louder | Opinion
Since the passing of King Zwelithini kaZulu things has been changing and so much disrespect is noticeable from the ANC leadership in KwaZulu Natal. The new appointed king is yet to be sworn and the ANC is delaying the process.
Just when we were still shocked by King Zwelithini and Queen Mantgombi's passing, the African National Congress started to change their attitudes towards the Zulu royal household. They started by KwaZulu-Natal government under Premier Sihle Zikalala slashing the budget by R5 million. Sihle Zikalala decided that he should allocate R66 million to new AmaZulu King Misuzulu Zulu KaZwelithini and his family for the 2021/22 financial year, just because the King that they feared is no more.
Let us look back to 2020/2021 where the same Sihle Zikalala decided that the king support and royal house branch should be allocated R71.3m.
That was an absolute increase from their previous R66.7m the province allocated the king in the 2019/2020 financial calendar.
Just yesterday the same KwaZulu Natal ANC leadership proposed saving money by abolishing some of the royal pomp at the opening ceremony of the KwaZulu-Natal legislature, sparking outrage from the Inkatha Fredoom Party.
The proposals, was submitted before the legislature's rules committee, it will now be scraping the police guard of honour at which King Misuzulu was going to take the salute and now they will compress the two-day opening proceedings into just a single day. Not just that but this is the end of the tradition of an entire day being devoted to the opening of the legislature by the king.
Zikalala has been pointing Pretoria officials as the reason behind the delays of sworning King Misuzulu. The rumours are saying that they are not giving up on ensuring that the next King be closer to the ANC, since King Misuzulu kaZulu is closer to Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi. Prince Mbonisi and Princess Thembi are known as part of the ANC leaders in KwaZulu Natal.
All these changes since the new King was appointed might push Kwazulu Natal out! With a possible independence application.
