Factional fights between ANC top leadership seem to be escalating at a time the party is gearing up ahead of its elective conference to be held in December this year.
ANC top leadership has been firing shots at each other a behaviour which has also cascaded to the party's structures in different provinces. Young comrades within the party are slowly joining in the feud and ganging up with leaders of their factions to fight their opponents.
Lebogang Maile however said young comrades must not involve themselves in the factional fights that are ongoing which involves top leaders who are elders in the movement.
Maile further argued that the ANC elders must be allowed to finish each other and drag another to the cemetery as this is their fight which they must finish by all means.
"The so called young comrades must not enter on these cat fights of the elders. They must allow the elders to finish each other. Allow the elders to drag and scratch one another all the way to the cemetery," he said.
Those aligned to Ace Magashule's RET faction claim the Radical Economic Transformation is a policy of the ANC which was adopted at Nasrec conference, but was never implemented. But those who belong to president Cyril Ramaphosa's faction assert that they are the legitimate faction of the ANC.
These divisions have been alleged to be reason why ANC is losing its loyal members and the support base is dwindling even lower. ANC is currently at 46.4% according to the number of votes they received in the last election. This points out that if they fail to unite the party which used to be a glorious movement, the ANC will sink even below 40%.
