Economic Freedom Fighters deputy president, Floyd Shivambu has fired warning shots at ANC heavyweight and finance minister, Enoch Godongwana after he defended president Cyril Ramaphosa over Phala Phala scandal.
Gondongwana is questioning the motive of Arthur Fraser, the former prison boss who reported the scandal. The ANC comrade argues that Fraser exposed the scandal at this time so as to jeopardize the chances of Ramaphosa to seek a second term.
EFF's Floyd Shivambu came out guns blazing against Enoch Godongwana saying once the red berets strike, even the finance minister will be part of collateral damage for defending Ramaphosa who is facing criminal charges.
Shivambu said Enoch Godongwana's utterances in defense of Ramaphosa are unacceptable as he heads financial institution which is supposed to hold the president accountable over his money laundering scandal.
"Thai factionalist, COPE founder, convicted fraudster Godongwana is talking rubbish and it’s unacceptable because the ministry he leads, @TreasuryRSA oversees the institutions (FIC, SARS, SARB) that must hold Ramaphosa accountable. He will suffer collateral damage when we strike," Shivambu said.
The red beret leader, Julius Malema also takes swipe at the ANC leader, Cyril Ramaphosa questioning how did he manage to become first ANC secretary after the unbanning of the movement.
"How can Cyril Ramaphosa, be elected the first Secretary General after the unbanning of the ANC when he just joined the ANC the same year or a year before? Julius Malema said.
Speaking at Freedom Charter Day rally at Walter Sisulu in Klipton, Gauteng, the EFF leader cites that the ANC government has failed it's people and deviated from what the charter had envisaged especially on education.
"The EFF loves them educated, the ANC loves them illiterate – that is why it is not giving you free education, but is giving you R350 because it wants to keep you ignorant," he said.
