ANC Suspends Brave MP Mervyn Dirks

The African National Congress has suspended the brave MP Mervyn Dirks who wrote a letter to Scopa Chairperson regarding the leaked audio recording of President Cyril Ramaphosa. The leaked audio reveals how President Ramaphosa violated the PRECCA Act.

Mervyn Alexander Dirks is a South African politician serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa. A member of the African National Congress, he became an MP in 2014 and is currently the ANC's chief whip in the Standing Committee of Public Accounts.

He joins the long list of suspended ANC members like Ace Magashule, Carl Neahuis, Zandile Gumede, Bongani Bongo, to name a few, who are all watching from the sidelines of the party's activities. They all have been suspended following their pending cases of crime and corruption that have been brought against them. Magashule, who is the party's suspended Secretary General, stands accused of money laundering and corruption. He is out on R200 000 bail
