ANC top officials get caught up in yet another fraud case

The rot that is in this country continues to be a case of great concern. There is an urgent need for a clean up to be done as there are only a few honest individuals left who are holding public offices.

Oftentimes there are reports of arrests of politicians and public office bearers who will have been caught with their hands in the state coffers. Such has become the new norm in South Africa and that will set a wrong precedence on all those who may be looking up at those leaders as role models.

A report which was shared by the SAfm News on the 20th of January 2022 showed that even in the ANC, the leaders are being caught in cases of fraud, theft and corruption. Three top officials in the ANC have since been suspended after they allegedly abused their positions to enrich themselves.

It was stated that the provincial executive committee of the ANC Women's League in the North West has temporarily suspended its chairperson Fetsang Molosiwa, provincial secretary, Bridget Tlhomelang, and treasurer, Manketse Tlhape. The trio is accused of defrauding the organisation and investigations are currently underway.

So much confusion is surrounding the ANC as the suspended members are claiming that their suspension holds no water.

One of the suspended members named Bridget Tlhomelang is said to have resigned from her post three years ago but is still transacting on behalf of the party.

It is public knowledge that ANC has been hitting the headlines for the wrong reasons over the past few months. The party has been failing to settle it's obligations such as paying it's employees. Last year, there was a number of demonstrations against the leadership as the poor workers took to the streets to protest.

What is however astonishing is the fact that those who are holding positions of power within the party at that same time are being found defrauding the financially troubled organisation.

That leaves us wondering what the members of the ANC are thinking about the future of their party as their actions are not doing the revolutionary party any good.

Ramaphosa has a huge task at hand if he is to clean up the party and remove all corrupt elements as they are tainting the party image.
