These foreign nationals are alleged to be buying RDP houses in SA

The Independent Online News has reported shocking claims by the Patriotic Alliance party that the RDP houses that are now known as the Breaking New Ground houses are being sold to illegal foreigners.

Sammy Claassen, who is the deputy leader of the party in the Western Cape reportedly made these claims and vowed that his party would put an end to this arrangement when voted into power.

The party reportedly said that it would ensure that these activities would stop and that they would use all the channels to deport all the illegal foreigners. There have been growing concerns over the years that foreigners are taking opportunities away from the local South Africans. A large number of foreign nationals own spaza shops and a number of business entities. The claims by the Patriotic Alliance may not have proof, but it is known that there is no smoke without fire.

The government entities responsible for housing and resettlements should ensure that the South Africans benefit first from all the housing initiatives. The ownership of business entities such as spaza shops by a large number of foreign nationals can only be availed to the local people by the government.

Deportation, killing or being violent against owners of spaza shops who are foreigners is no solution. The government has the resources and the ability to turn local people into owners of business entities. The government has the ability to also make the local South African residents owners of houses. Some of the RDP houses that are alleged bought by the foreign nationals are turned into spaza shops. It is for this reason that the government needs to step up and conduct investigations to prove if the claims made by the Patriotic Alliance are true.
