The African National Congress and its members have sent messages of condolences to the family of one of their own, Sputla Ramokgopa following the death of his mother. Ramokgopa announced on social media this morning that his mother had passed away, although not mentioning the cause of death.
In a short but touching message, Ramokgopa thanked his mother for her love, he said, "Thank you for your unending love, good bye and good night Mma💔💔💔😭😭😭."
Ramokgopa also shared some images of him and her, and from the images, she looked rather frail and elderly. Ramokgopa serves as Mayor for the City of Tshwane a few years ago while the ANC was still in power.
Meanwhile, the party yesterday joined the family of the former mayor of Johannesburg, Mpho Moerane who died last week in hospital just days after being involved in a car accident. Moerane is the third former mayor of the City of Johannesburg who has died within a year. Geoff Makhubo succumbed to coronavirus, while Jolidee Matongo also died in a tragic car accident.
