She was mandated as part of her role as Minister of Social Development to take care of the poor and vulnerable. Instead she disrespected them in ways that are still unforgivable. I have very little sympathy for her now.
She should have thought of this possibility when she defied the costs order issued by the courts. How did she get to owe so much in legal fees to a human right organisation? Did they represent her or did they pay for her representation? How hard could it be for an MP of +-20 years to pay off her legal fees?
It was said that she lost several cases brought to court but black sash regarding the payment of grants and was ordered to pay costs from her own pocket instead of the ministry’s.
