While many thought that the sudden fame the minister of tourism Lindiwe Sisulu has gotten over the past few days will die out, their predictions were far from the truth. Since then, the minister has written several more opinion pieces that were in response to the criticism she has been getting.
She responded to the acting chief justice Raymond Zondo and also she responded to Lamula who is part of the ANC. It now seems like she doesn't care who criticises her, she is ready to respond. The whole ANC party has had enough.
On Sunday the 16th of January, African National Congress announced It's about to hold a meeting as a structure to discuss the actions of the minister of tourism. What this essentially means is that a decision needs to be taken based on her recent actions and how it has affected the party.
It has not yet been revealed on what side of the fight the African National Congress has chosen to be in this matter. There are some people in the party that are agreeing with what the minister is saying while others are disagreeing with it. Essentially this meeting is supposed to come to a single decision of what should be done next.
There's definitely a subtle air of rebellion from Lindiwe Sisulu. She has proven countless times that she is now only caring about herself and not the greater good of the African National Congress. Some have said this is her initial move towards the presidency but it seems it might cost her more than she might potentially gain. The African National Congress at this point could either choose the punish her or go for whatever is best for the party.
What is your take on the matter?
