The African National Congress has suffered another loss. It has not been an easy year for the ruling party. The party has been facing so many deaths of their members this year. It has now been confirmed that the newly elected mayor of Johannesburg has died in car accident. Jolidee Matongo replaced the late Geoff Makhubo who died due to Covid-19 complications. Jolidee Matongo's appointment did not make most of the citizens happy. They felt that being a child of foreign national he would put the Zimbabwean people first. He did not help himself engaging with the citizens well.
He proudly said he is a child of an immigrant, that made lot of people angry as they saw him as being disrespectful towards the country. #PutSouthAfricansFirst have been celebrating his death under official twitter accounts of media houses. Some have described his death as the tears of South Africans did not fall for nothing.
