The eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality mayor Mxolisi Kaunda has thrown a bombshell and said that the ruling party members need to reclaim the ANC's ruling powers from the capitalists of Stellenbosch.

Kaunda said that the ANC members should not be afraid of being labelled when they fight against those who have handed over the ANC to Stellenbosch.
"We have to stand up for ourselves. The ANC cannot afford not to be voted by people because of us. We need to protect our revolution. We can't be controlled in Stellenbosch. We can't say we have economy when know it very well that the economy is in Stellenbosch. Economy hasn't yet arrived to us. We need a strong ANC so that we can reclaim the economy," he said.
Since President Cyril Ramaphosa took over from President Jacob Zuma, there has been claims that he is being controlled in Stellenbosch by the Rupert's and Oppenheimer family. They are one of the richest families in South Africa.
