Chirwa was responding to a tweet from the President about our constitution.
“We need to protect our Constitution, our democratic state and the electoral process from anyone who wants to weaken our democracy and deny the South African people of their hard-won freedom. https://t.co/AtovORAd1B https://t.co/gipyoKplGl” - @cyrilramaphosa.
In response to the tweet, Chirwa called Ramaphosa a toothless boy.
“You’re such a weak little boy. All your fellow stooges u sent to collapse Lindiwe were collapsed themselves. It won’t be surprising if u do what little boys do when overpowered by women. Throw the tantrum we are expecting it. You’ll forever remain a toothless boy. Mfana ke mfana” - @Naledichirwa.
With Chirwa’s name trending high on social media, some compared her comment to what happened during former President’s Jacob Zuma’s time in office.
“So insults are only acceptable when directed to President Zuma and Julius Malema? Today there's hysteria because Ramaphosa is called a boy? The same Ramaphosa that referred to Ace Magashule as a little boy not so long ago? Your hypocrisy knows no limit. https://t.co/aRd5Up18c9” - @mapulamokgosang.
