Thabo Mbeki Drops A Bombshell Against The ANC

Have you ever wondered what the late Nelson Mandela would say about the current state of South Africa and how the governing party is running the country? It has become a norm for former presidents to stand with the governing party which they led, regardless of its failures.

For instance, former president Jacob Zuma encouraged voters to keep voting for the ANC yet on many occasions threw the ANC under the bus and even threatened to expose the organization. He has always spoken against how his comrades turned their backs on him.

Mbeki on the other hand had a fallout with suspected ANC Secretary-General Ace Magashule after he dragged the ANC to court. Mbeki believed that Magashule should have been loyal to the ANC like a true comrade, but Magashule did not take ts lightly and even went as far as calling Mbeki an HIV denialist, bringing shame to his rule.

It is clear that the ANC comrades are willing to keep the organization's shenanigans and might have taken an oath to die with its secrets. Yes, Zuma mentioned that the Arms Deal scandal happened under Mbeki's reign as head of state, but despite all that, Mbeki attended the party's manifesto last month.

Today, the former head of state attended the Emoyeni Conference to engage with business people and professionals During his address, Mbeki mentioned that there is a serious crisis in local government because they are failing to bring service delivery to the people.

He added that the party should stop electing thieves as local government candidates, and suggested that responsible people should be elected to help bring service delivery to communities.

He then touched base on the organization's promises, citing that these promises are unattainable because the party has no budget or enough resources. He added that the country has been in a crisis long before Covid-19, saying that the resources for the organization to keep its promises can only come from economic growth and creating jobs.

Author's Opinion

Mbeki says that the ANC is too big to fail, and if does, the country will collapse. The ANC has broken a lot of promises already and there is division in the organization.

In local government, most administrators are not qualified for their positions hence the lack of service delivery. They have enriched themselves and stile public funds.

They want the chance to eat, hence the current rate of political assassinations. This disaster has ascended to the highest office in the land. This is why there ANC has no money to do anything for the poor. Any plans to properly govern the country were thrown out of the window, and that sad situation continues to this day.

It might be too late for the party to make a change, they already have their list of ward councilors, ready to take over without any grooming to be good successors who will eradicate corruption.
