Kids are really unpredictable. They react differently when they meet strangers some are naturally welcoming but others do not like strangers at all.
In many African beliefs there is a common myth that children will like you if you have a good heart and pure and dislike you when you have a bad spirit. https://twitter.com/advocatemahere/status/1451263340047654918?t=5oSkXY8_6DJWuJfSpfkkNA&s=19
The Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been going around touring the country prior to the 2023 election coming up. A lot of people are always looking to see how their leaders interact with the people so that they can tell if they have the people's interests at heart. however there are several pictures of the president trying to interact with children but it didn't go too well.
The first child has his hands in his pocket will talking to the president. This is a sign of disrespect and people were blaming it on the little boy's parents. On the other hand some people were of the opinion that the little boy is aware of what the current government is doing that leading most people into poverty therefore he wanted nothing to do with the president.
On the second picture the child could be seen crying pretty intensely when the president tried to hold him. this kind of raised a lot of questions. Some people said maybe the child thought he was a doctor considering that he was wearing a white coat and most children don't like doctors. Others were saying he could have just been uncomfortable being held by a stranger and that is whey he cried so much.
However another short video crying when her mother wore a t-shirt with the president's face really got people laughing. There is no clear explanation on why the bay could have so much hatred for a person's picture and react the way she did.
Please share your views could the myth be true or it was just a coincidence.
