The allegations against Cyril Ramphosa, according to Madonsela, are false, and he is not corrupt. A group of South African residents believe that her claims are misleading because they do not allege that President Cyril Ramaphosa is corrupt, but rather that he failed to report that millions of dollars were taken from his property, Phala Phala.
Additionally, Ramaphosa is accused of abusing his domestic servant and using state resources to track down the Namibian robbers, which are both criminal charges. In his case, Arthur Fraser claimed that he had been a victim of kidnapping, torture, and money laundering. According to Cyril Ramaphosa, he has never been accused of corruption in any other country or jurisdiction.
Thuli Madonsela and others who oppose Cyril Ramaphosa allege that the president's lack of corruption has been made clear by Madonsela and others who wish to divert attention from the genuine charges against him.
"He has not been accused of corruption. Corruption is the abuse of power by another party for personal gain." I agreed with Madonsela when he said this.
Carl Niehaus went on the offensive in response to Thuli Madonsela's comments, calling her "shameless" and demanding her to quit insulting the intelligence of others.
"Shocking to see something of this magnitude. Thuli Madonsela, you have to stop insulting our intelligence. She would have stated the opposite if the accused had been South African President Jacob Zuma. There can be no pretense of fairness or equity if this kind of racial profiling is used." This was expressed by Carl Niehaus.
Many people agree with Thuli on Phala Phala, while some think Cyril Ramaphosa exploited his position to solve his own personal difficulties.
"Perhaps there's more to it than that, however. If this is the case, President Ramaphosa did not misuse public funds, but he did abuse his position by breaking the law and then trying to disguise it, and Thuli Madonsela has let me down in that regard. You're being dishonest with your actions."
As a result of the Phala Phala issue, Carl Niehaus, a fellow ANC member, has become one of President Cyril Ramaphosa's most vociferous detractors.
