A counselor from the Eastern Cape was humiliated when he was dragged from the Amathole district municipality by guards. The guards appeared to be acting on the orders of a woman who is believed to be the head of security.
"They were having strat meeting, the department which she was assigned to meet. Unfortunately the strat plan was not done through her, then when she queried that then there was a misunderstanding and security was instructed to come and get rid of her", Magqashela said.
The ANC is appalled, saying that what made the incident even worse was that the guards appeared to be taking their orders from a woman who'd claimed to be head of security.
"We call for decisive action against all those involved in this abhorrent display of gender based violence and be brought to book. We further call on the MEC of Cogta to urgently investigate the despicable and distasteful act", the ANC's provincial secretary, Lulama Ngcukaitobi said.
The ANC has taken a lot of losses of late and appear to be a party in disarray. Their minister, Lindowe Sisulu caused controversy when she attacked the integrity of the constitution. Many called for her to be relieved including leaders of the Democratic Alliance.
Deputy chief justice, Raymond Zondo then called a press conference defending the constitution and the judiciary against Sisulu's attacks.
President Cyril Ramaphosa then met with Lindiwe Sisulu were they allegedly agreed that Sisulu should apologize for her comments. The Presidency released a statement regarding this. Sisulu then later released her statement saying that the Presidency's statement was disingenuous and not representative of the meeting they had.
Earlier today EFF leader, Julius Malema commended those people who had reported the sewage filth in the ANC run municipalities in Mangaung.
