Former Eskom executive, Matshela Koko has argued that president Cyril Ramaphosa will go down in history as the worst president since 1994. He claims that the president has repeatedly failed to rise to the occasion.

Koko is one of the strongest critics of president Cyril Ramaphosa and some argue that this emanates from the fact that he was fired from his Eskom position by Ramaphosa, and is finding it difficult to move on.

Even though social critics had called for Matshela Koko to be reinstated at Eskom so that he can help relieve the loadshedding crisis that South Africa is faced with, he gladly declined citing that he has moved on and will never look back.

The former Eskom executive however maintains his stance that president Cyril Ramaphosa must vacate office as he is failing to carry out the tasks he is supposed to do.

"I honestly think that Cyril Ramaphosa will go down as the worst president of the republic since 1994. An incidental president who failed to rise to the occasion," he said.

The growing crisis at Eskom has made people to think that former president Jacob Zuma's era was better. Some critics cite that Eskom cannot continue to service old engines, but must bring in new ones if they are serious about ending the electricity problem.

"For people who work at Eskom we wish that you could hear our side of the story… you can’t run an engine for 20 years no matter how much you service it. You need to bring in a new one. With the current state of the plant, we need upgrades and everything will be good," some said.

ANC comrades aligned to the RET forces have always argued that the lack of will power to fix the problems at Eskom by president Cyril Ramaphosa is allegedly because he wants to privatise the power utility.

The opposition party, Economic Freedom Fighters claim if Eskom is privatised, the ordinary citizens will not be able to afford electricity.
