Good news: Nomusa Dube-Ncube has been confirmed as KZN premier-elect

KwaZulu-Natal premier-elect Nomusa Dube-Ncube.Nomusa Dube-Ncube said her elevation to the highest post in KwaZulu-Natal during Women's Month was an honor to late party activists Victoria Mxenge, Dorothy Nyembe, and Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.

Dube-Ncube was chosen following "tough" interviews. Sihle Zikalala resigned two years early.

She thanked the provincial ANC and national leadership for hiring her.

"We're in August, and I'm sure Victoria Mxenge, Dorothy Nyembe, and Winnie Madikizela-Mandela are pleased that the ANC, as a champion of nonracialism and nonsexism, is ensuring that talented women are given leadership roles. She respectfully accepted, thanked the ANC, and promised not to disappoint KwaZulu-Natal residents.

He was born in KwaMashu, eThekwini. She has an MPA and is pursuing a PhD.

She was eThekwini's mayor before becoming Czech ambassador. She formerly worked with DET&E. Dube-Ncube was Cogta's MEC for a decade. She was finance MEC.

Dube-Ncube will be sworn in at a later date.

She looks forward to working with ANC leaders and government colleagues.

"To guarantee we deal with difficulties we still face in our province - socioeconomic concerns, unemployment — in our provincial growth strategies we talk about a capable state and economic growth that reflects our people's demography and rural areas, so they have possibilities.

"We'll work with all our structures to ensure ANC policies unite SA," she stated.

Bheki Mtolo, provincial secretary, said Dube-generation Ncube's aims to abolish gender inequality.

“This is a very critical day for the ANC as we make history by announcing the first woman premier-elect,” said Mtolo.

Non-sexism is the ANC's main mission. During Women's Month, we've moved closer to realizing this movement's core idea."
