Here are some allegedly proposed amendments to the Political Party Funding Act by ANC

The African National Congress was reported by eNCA as having allegedly proposed that there be some amendments to the Political Party Funding Act .It was stated that the party allegedly proposed that the R100 000 annual disclosure threshold to be increased to R250 000 or R500 000 per annum .

It is not a secret that the ruling party has not managed to pay its employees for a couple of months now .In accordance with the party's NEC document , the party also proposes that the R15-million donation limit for a single person to be removed as well .The ANC reportedly wants the donation limit to be increased to between R50-million and R100-million .

The Political Funding Act was made legal in April 2021 and the ANC has been citing that the act reduced the capacity for the South African political parties to mobilize more financial resources .

The ANC has been heard on a number of occasions citing how its income generation has been affected by the Pollitical Funding Act .The situation has not been good for the ruling party for a number of months as it has been struggling to pay its own staff for many months . The ANC staff have had to picket outside the offices in order to have their voices heard .

A few weeks back , the party held its 110th birthday celebrations despite owing its employees . The party leadership needs to pull up it's socks and ensure that the employees get paid .

The ANC staff members are responsible for the everyday business of the party and not paying them on time is self destruction .It is unfair for the employees to have to go for months without getting paid , yet they have expenses to take care of . What do you think will help resolve the issues of the party ?
