As we approach voting day for the local elections, political parties and their leaders are roaming the streets campaign for votes.
It is evident by now that political parties are for the people when they are campaigning for votes but once they win they are no where to be seen. Top parties like ANC, EFF and DA have been visiting areas with less service delivery to instil hope because that is where most votes come from. The new kid in the block ‘Action SA’ owned by former Democratic Alliance leader and former Johannesburg Mayor Mr Herman Mashaba has been trhiving through these campaigns. Mr Mashaba restored hope during his reign as a mayor in the City of Johannesburg and many people especially the young are willing to give his party a chance after being failed by the ANC for the 27 years of ruling.
Another strong contender is the EFF, many believe it may be the solution for all the problems caused by the ANC and it’s severe corruption. These 2 parties may dominate most if not all the local municipalities. More than anything the citizens are hungry for change and in order for this to happen, the current ruling party must be voted out. Who are you voting for in these upcoming local elections?
