OPINION| Does the DA Represent the Rainbow Nation ?

We scrutinized the ANC's manifesto just this past week on this very same page, it was also posted here so to me that's a gesture to expose us as the followers of the page and electorates to review ourselves what each party brings, what it did etc. Keep doing that guys, I'd like to see the EFF, ActionSA and other parties. It is only fair because we get to debate all parties promises and actions to us. Now, yes I personally would give the DA a chance on November 1 the records are true and speak for themselves, look at Midvaal municipality always scooping awards for best service delivery and good governance, Cape Town the best run SA municipality, Stellenbosch will soon be free of load shedding, and the only such municipality in SA, Kouga municipality is doing wonders with their infrastructure too especially roads, Moodimolle-Mokgophong municipality in Limpopo is also doing wonders. I vote for service delivery and good governance and the DA is doing just that so it is worthy of my vote

Each political party manifesto will be highlighted and scrutinized. Ultimately, the electorate will decide who is worthy of their vote. We are not telling people who to vote for, we are just showing the options and what each party is promising

In the sense that our electoral system is political party based, so it's a valid point that most politicians are not to be trusted, but what do we make of the state of the country right now? How do we change the backward trajectory and hold elected officials accountable, if not through the ballot?

The DA are excellent in places where there's infrastructure. I can guarantee you that people in Nyanga, Mitchell's Plein and Khayelitshia have a different experience of the DA. Hell, even white farming communities would rather vote for Dr Mulder's party. Having your book balance at the end of the financial year means nothing if it doesn't translate to change on the ground. Politics is about people, not balance sheets. Also, unless the Cape independence Party is a branch of the DA, we mustn't forget or ignore such a big amount of disgruntled people that live in the "best run" province in the country
