As everyone probably knows by now, the local municipal elections took place on the 1st of November and oh boy oh boy, the ANC took a huge beating which left it sitting at below 50%, for the first time since the democratic elections in 1994.
Before the elections, the ANC were running the Johannesburg City metro under Mpho Moerane as mayor but Mr Moerane isn't no longer the mayor and what's even more sad is that he was only the mayor for a mere 53 days before being booted out, can you believe it?? Lol
The reason why Mpho Moerane was only mayor for so few days is because he took over from Jolidee Matongo who sadly passed away on the 18th of September, after his car collided with another car on the high way of Johannesburg.
Mpho Moerane took over on the 1st of October as the mayor but after 53 days, he was booted out by Mpho Phalatse of the DA, who was sworn in on the 23rd of November.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?? LET'S TALK IN THE COMMENTS SECTION
