SA boycotting lockdown. Family meeting tonight

South Africa has been under lockdown for 20 months since last year March when President Cyril Ramaphosa mandated it. Businesses have suffered and people lost their jobs and still continue to lose their jobs. Last year in December, no traveling was permitted and people did not enjoy the festive season.

On the 1st of November, there were local elections and before the elections took place, politicians were running their campaigns. The president allowed the lockdown to be at level 1 and this allowed a larger amount of gatherings. Most of these elections people did not abide to Covid-19 rules and regulations.

It is a shocker now that all of a sudden, there is a new strain and infections are rising as festive season is approaching. A family meeting is expected this evening but people are saying if the president increases the lockdown level, they will not abide by the rules. People are saying nothing will stop them from having a blast this festive season. Another person on tweeter says the same way they could control infections during elections, they should do that now too. What do you think we should expect this evening? Comment
