ELECTIONS: Recent Poll Shows Herman Mashaba's Party Taking Over Johannesburg

With the local government elections approaching, the political party will be doing their best to capture the biggest municipalities in South Africa. The city of Johannesburg appears to be unavailable for grabs as the ActionSA cements its chances of reigning high within the city. It was recently suggested by a Twitter poll that ActionSA indeed has its fingers on the City of Johannesburg with a potentially 63% of votes.

A social media user took Twitter to ask his followers who will be voting in the city of Johannesburg regarding which political party they will be voting for. The options were either EFF, ANC, ActionSA and others. According to the outcomes of the poll which had over 3000 votes, it appears the majority of the Johannesburg voters will be voting for ActionSA. The EFF obtained 11.7% of the votes, the ANC 5.4% of the votes while 19.3% of the voters suggested they will be voting for other political parties. That leaves ActionSA a whopping 63.6% of votes.

Even the sample of the poll amounted to merely 3000 people, the outcomes can still be dimmed accurately because this was not the first poll that saw the ActionSA accumulating the number one spot in comparisons to parties such as the EFF, ANC and DA. It was even reported that ActionSA is emerging as the biggest party in Johannesburg while big parties have seen major declines.

Another poll that saw ActionSA gaining the upper hand over big parties is the online poll that was run by Times Live. The poll asked Times Lives readers who they will be voting for and it had over 8 000 votes. The options were arguable for all the political parties in South Africa and ActionSA gained the second spot to the DA. The ANC and EFF gained the third and fifth spots respectively.

Regardless of the poll, Herman Mashaba stands a good chance at capturing the city of jahhaneburg compared to other parties because the people of Johannesburg are familiar with Herman Mashaba. In 2016 he was the mayor of Johannesburg and he did quite a great job even though he could not finish it. As a mayor of the city, Mashaba recaptured some of the buildings that were considered the den of thieves in Johannesburg and it is due to such reasoning that the majority of the Joburg voters would vote for Mashaba.
