South African deputy president, Mr David Mabuza, on Thursday delivered Peter Mokaba lecture in Polokwane. And while talking about the role which Peter Mokaba played during the struggle against the Apartheid regime: the South African deputy president indicated that those who are now arguing that the ANC might actually be voted out of power are dreaming.

There are some critics who have argued that the ANC might lose significant votes in the upcoming national election which is set to take place in 2024. It bears repeating here that ANC suffered heavy loses in different provinces during last year's local government elections. However, the deputy president of South Africa and a prominent member of the ANC, Mr Mabuza seems to be of different view to those propounded by the critics of the ruling party.

It remains to be seen, what will actually happen when the National elections takes place in 2024. However, one can remind some readers that history has shown that removing a ruling party from power is not an easy task no matter how powerful the opposition can be.

The dynamics of South African politics have changed quite dramatically in recent years. And there is some serious indication that things will be particularly interesting in the coming days.
