Big gift from the UN to the Kwazulu-Natal

source; › stories

Remember the recent unrest which almost destroyed south Africa within a few months, unrests that could have have totally destroyed every valuable thing. Some provinces were not affected as much as KZN but who is to feel sorry for them, they brought everything upon themselves. I only feel sorry for the innocent that were not part of this and had lost their Jobs. Our judicial system is slowly collapsing, I mean how can people go unpunished for this, Not only that part but education system is failing south Africans. People only took to the street not because they are stupid but because they have been educated by Mr. Zuma or the supporters of Zuma( I hope you get what I mean), But that is Topic for another day. Luckily for us, We have the UN to support us after what happened of course. The damage is quite profound, I mean we have seen the videos. While others call it demon possession or the end of times, I simply call it stupidity, thousands and Thousands of Jobs were lost in this struggle for one man.

If you don't know what is the UN and what purpose it serves than you about to know

The United Nations is an intergovernmental organization aiming to maintain international peace and security, develop friendly relations among nations, achieve international cooperation, and be a center for harmonizing the actions of nations. It is the world's largest, and most familiar, international organization.

The work of the United Nations reaches every corner of the globe. Although best known for peacekeeping, peacebuilding, conflict prevention and humanitarian assistance, there are many other ways the United Nations and its System (specialized agencies, funds and programmes) affect our lives and make the world a better place. The Organization works on a broad range of fundamental issues, from sustainable development, environment and refugees protection, disaster relief, counter terrorism, disarmament and non-proliferation, to promoting democracy, human rights, gender equality and the advancement of women, governance, economic and social development and international health, clearing landmines, expanding food production, and more, in order to achieve its goals and coordinate efforts for a safer world for this and future generations.

The Sustainable Development Goals are a global call to action to end poverty, protect the earth’s environment and climate, and ensure that people everywhere can enjoy peace and prosperity. These are the goals the UN is working on in South Africa. In simple English the UN keeps the world from collapsing.

The Resident Coordinator of the UN in South Africa, Ms. Nardos Bekele-Thomas, affirmed the UN’s support and commitment to the rebuilding of the communities affected by the violent unrest in the KwaZulu-Natal Province earlier this month. She said, "To demonstrate our commitment to the Emergency Response Plan, the United Nations in South Africa we are committing more than R20 million as catalytic resources."

This comes as the UN delegation is currently in the province to assess the impact of the unrest that left more than 300 people dead and many more displaced, vulnerable and unemployed. This is of course good news for KZN people but this move made some of us wonder if this is happening because of the elections or it was deemed to happen despite elections. That doesn't matter though, The good news is that we get to recover as a nation.

NOW we just have to pray that money is not used for corruption but to build KZN, I mean how can it not to be selfish just for once.
