Suspended ANC Secretary General Ace Magashule says he was not prevented from attending, he could have just attended like any other member. But he felt that he must give the ANC space.
He was suspended on the basis of the step-aside rule after he was criminally charged in connection with a multimillion-rand Free State asbestos eradication tender.
It seems as if Ace Magashule wants nothing to do with the party that took away the job that put bread on the table. Suspended or not he had a reason to attend the birthday anniversary since he is a member of the party and also a member of Parliament.
People are angry saying that Ace should be told that ANC is not a family business, he must stay away from it since he was suspended until his suspension is over. Him going to the event would have drawn huge attention because people would have questions as to what does he want??
