Admittedly, things are rather moving extremely fast in South Africa, particularly in the world of politics. However, what is currently being talked about, particularly within South African Political circles is the matter regarding the minister of finance Enoch Godongwana. Apparently the minister of finance is facing sexual assault allegations.
And on Thursday, reports emerged that the NPA ( The National Prosecuting Authority) returned the investigation docket of the Minister of finance, Enoch Godongwana relating to his sexual assault allegations back to the police. It has been reported elsewhere that, on Thursday the NPA returned the docket in order for police to obtain a warning statement from Godongwana.
The Police in Mpumalanga have indicated that “The docket has been returned to us with an instruction that we need to obtain a statement from the prominent person on the allegations made,”
In the meanwhile, the well-known ANC veteran and member of the National Executive Committee of the ANC, Tony Yengeni has since reacted to the news which have been stated above.
The ANC veteran has indicated that they have said it many years ago that the NPA is nothing but a political tool to criminalize those who seeks to challenge the status quo. As anticipated, many people reacted to Yengeni's remarks with mixed reactions.
Tony Yengeni said
"We said it many many moons ago that the NPA is nothing but a political tool to criminalise those who seek to change the status quo and to sanitize the worst of criminals"
