The departure of Mr Babalo Madikizela from the government is a great loss for the people of EC

A euphemism for reshuffling, I have seen many reshufflings but never have the shuffler reshuffled him or herself bolstering government performance and accelerate delivery on the program of action ten years later, we should have done well for the people of Marikana and the labour sending areas of the platinum belt, which is essentially the Eastern Cape judging by comments on who is to blame and who should be prosecuted, it is clear that as a country, we are not ready for the much talked about social compact. What has happened in the last ten years has been an intensification of the hardships experienced by the vast majority of our people, it seems that society had become anaesthetised to the plight of the poorIf there is one economic area that must lead the country in this regard, it is the mineral-energy complex not only has it reaped massive profits over the more than 100 years of its operations and existence in this country, but it has also done so backed up by a highly oppressive and exploitative political system whose effects are still deeply felt through the length and breadth of the country, we need decisiveness in this regard, and we need bold leadershipThe fickleness and indecision at the highest echelons of the state are unacceptable they are a breeding ground for social discontent and what will surely be a conflagration if not attended with speed.

"The reality is that since 1994, South Africa has been in a delicate balancing act of preventing the flammable social tinder of poverty and inequality from catching fire, we must deal decisively with matters of poor state performance and corruption the two opportunity diseases of modern day South Africa. I think the whole thing is being politicized without critically looking at the major causes of the massacre, so as long as narrow political interests and grandstanding persist the plight of Marikana victims will always be secondary, unfortunately and sadly
