Former president Thabo warn South Africans

Former president Thabo Mbeki is urging South Africans to not allow the state capture to happen again.

Mbeki explained that the onus is now on all South Africans to introspect and determine where the country went wrong in allowing the pillage of state resources by private businesses.

He said there were many questions that the country need to answer.

"What happened is that as South Africans, we allowed this destruction to take place. We were all around somewhere in our society. How do we make sure this does not happen, that we recover from this great tragedy". Mbeki said.

The Judicial Commission of Inquiry into allegations of state capture, corruption and fraud in the public sector including organs of state, better known as the Zondo Commission or state capture commission, is a public Inquiry established in January 2018, by former president Jacob Zuma and fraud in the public sector in SA.

Former president Jacob Zuma allegedly readily opened the doors for the Gupta family to go into the state-owned enterprises and help themselves to the money and assets of the people in SA, the state capture commission concluded.
