Cyril Ramaphosa Attacked For Focusing On Other Country’s Issues Than SA’s Problems

President Cyril Ramaphosa was under fire when he was accused, by South Africans, for being more focused on other country’s issues, than his own country’s issues.

Barbados formally declared itself the world's newest republic at the stroke of midnight, as the Caribbean island nation removed Queen Elizabeth II as head of state in a solemn ceremony Tuesday attended by her son Prince Charles.

The new era for the nation of 285,000 ends Britain's centuries of influence, including more than 200 years of slavery until 1834.

President Cyril Ramaphosa took to Twitter to congratulate Barbados on becoming a republic.

He posted this tweet, “Congratulations to the people of Barbados on becoming a republic, as you consign to the past a history of slavery and colonialism and look forward to a future of justice and prosperity for all.”

South Africans who are unhappy with the things that are currently happening in the country shared their opinions on his tweet. Here are some of the comments:

“Well, we are still waiting for the prosperity part.... we seem to have got poorer. We also seem to be slaves to the ANC and with mandatory vaccinations coming, there is no justice.”

“Please also focus on your own country. Petrol is expensive this side.”

“You're turning a blind eye in everything here at home, like you act like you see nothing nje, can you please attend to petrol issues ASAP, we can hardly afford anything right now please!”
