In a Sunday Times article published on Sunday, the African National Congress (ANC) secretary-general Ace Magashule has made it clear that the ANC will not vote with the enemy (DA) to removed Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane.
The Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula has attacked Magashule for his remarks that the party will not vote with the DA to remove Mkhwebane. "Ace Magashule is wrong to suggest that Mkhwebane can't be removed. Yes as a friend to Mkhwebane, he can express that view but not on behalf of the ANC, which structure of ANC arrived at such a position? Mkhwebane is been charged with misconduct lets talk about that," he said.
Mbalula added: "You are wrong I don't hate SG. I have an obligation as a member to defend the ANC incuding against people like Ace who distort its image and policies."
"Gweede Mantashe never distorted ANC policy. He even defended Nkandla because it was an NEC decision. Ace Magashule is way out of line. We are members of the ANC, we must defend our organization above an individual who is distorting its image and policy. Mkhwebana is a hired gun not the Public Protector."
