CAPE TOWN - MPs said they have become irritated with National Director of Public Prosecutions Shamila Batohi.
Batohi was called out on Wednesday confronting individuals from the Justice Portfolio Committee to examine progress in indictments.
Batohi was likewise tested with regards to the renunciation of Advocate Hermione Cronje.
DA MP Glynnis Breytenbach said people in general and the board have become irritated.
"We want to get results. We want to see individuals in court. We want to see indictments occurring. We want to see individuals going to prison. That's all there is to it and I realize that the National Director comprehends that how she arrives is tragically her work," Breytenbach said.
Batohi said they needed to oppose capitulating to the strain as this could prompt slip-ups while arraigning.
Batohi said: "We must demonstration with a desire to move quickly which is the thing that we are doing. We can't react to pressure since that is the point at which we commit errors and we can't bear to commit errors in the current environment."
She has let the board know that there's no emergency at the NPA following Cronje's abdication.
