Cyril Ramaphosa's sister Ivy Ramaphosa was overjoyed following her brother's election as the president of South Africa in February 2018.

"I'm feeling very happy and I wish him good luck. He is an honest person and I trust him a lot that he will take care of every person in this country because he is always calm and he loves people". Said Ivy Ramaphosa.

Sowetan spoke to Ivy at the Ramaphosa family home in Chiawelo, Soweto, where the first citizen and his two siblings were raised.

Ivy Ramaphosa is the daughter of Erdmuth and Samuel Ramaphosa, her father was a retired policeman while her mother was a homemaker. Ivy has two brothers, one being the president of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa and one named Douglass Ramaphosa. She grew up in the impoverished township of Soweto.

It remains unknown when was Ivy born or where she attended school, however it is publicly known that her brother Cyril Ramaphosa was born on 17 November 1952 and he studied his primary schooling at the Tshilidzi primary school, then went to Sekano Ntoane high school and matriculated from Mphaphuli high school in Sibasa, Venda in 1971. And then enrolled at the University of the North in 1972, to study law.
