Over the weekend large numbers of people descended to the village of Ga-Madisha Leolo, Zebediela in the Limpopo Province to bid their farewell to the late Mamelodi Sundowns defender Motjeka Madisha.
The late Motjeka Madisha was finally buried on Saturday in his hometown village. Dignitaries and the Mamelodi Sundowns representatives were also in attendance.
Following the emotional send off that Motjeka was given it has now been revealed that members of the South African Police Services entered the premises heavily armed and would conduct an arrrest, charging Motjeka's father Bethuel with breaking the Covid 19 Management Disaster Act by allowing more than 50 personnel to attend the services.
Buthuel Mokjeka was then subpoened to appear before the Lebowakgomo Magistrate Court where he went to face two charges, the second one being resisting arrest. He has since appeared before the courts and was ordered to pay a fine of R2500 in order not to face a jail time sentence.
According to the family spokesperson Fani Tsela a list was compiled and presented to the authorities of the 50 personnel who were required to attend the service. He further has stated that entering the premises the police did not even do a head count, they just wanted to initiate the arrest.
Tsela adds by saying there were about 100 more mourners outside the home, who were not included but as people, they do invite themselves to pay their respects in such occasions. He would later state that he does not understand why as a family they should be held accountable for such things and goes to say the family would wish to have their privacy dealing with this matter moving forward.
