JOHANNESBURG - National Director of Public Prosecutions Shamila Batohi said the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) was not in emergency and there was no far reaching damage of the examining directorate.
Reports of infighting in the indicting authority surfaced after Hermione Cronje declared her abdication last week. She leaves her situation in March.
Batohi has denied having a drop out with Cronje during her over two years in office.
"We've gotten through a troublesome period, that is thus, and there are different inward cycles that are taking a gander at different viewpoints. Advocate Cronje's renunciation and exco's choice to endorse it were a climax of different variables. In any case, the erroneous account in the media that it is a result of relational relations among her and I, truly makes for sensational announcing. That is the place where it closes," she said.
The directorate was set up in 2019 to examine defilement and state catch related violations.
