Former music boss elected as ANC secretary in Gauteng

27 June 2022

By Sphe J Hadebe

Former record label owner is now the ANC- provincial boss, in Gauteng, following elections as he was voted as a provincial secretary.

The African National Congress over the weekend elected a new leadership in Gauteng, following lots of delays and court applications but it successfully elected new leadership.

As always, it was too factions against each other, however the victory of being the provincial chairperson, walked away with the MEC of Education, Panyaza Lesufi.

Knowing his great work as an MEC of Education in the province, it is no doubt he will do a good job in leading the ANC at one of the provinces with big ANC regions.

He beat Lebogang Maile by a slight margin of 32 votes. It is for the third if not fourth time that Maile loses out on this position.

Lesufi won by 575 of the votes while Maile only managed to get 543.

What left many people surprised was seeing the former TS Records co-owner, TK Nciza, getting on the top ANC leadership in Gauteng.

While Nciza is known to be a politician and involved in ANC businesses but no one had anticipated that he would actually replace the music business with politics full time.

Nciza use to be married to the Mafikizolo star, Nhlanhla Nciza before they divorce in 2019.

As the protocol of ANC, before serving on the high structures, one has to serve in the low structures before, so it is not clear whether he has served in those structures. However, he is known a lot for having tenders through the party.
